1)What are the KEY WORDS used to
describe readers?
2)What are the connotations of these words?
3)Write a statement which describes the
Guardian or Observer reader. You could include what you learned last lesson.
The typical reader of the Guardian or Observer would be middle to upper class and have had a stable income, education and upbringing, they'll also believe in aspects of liberalism. (middle class progressives). Some of the readers most likely are interested in, or a part of more rarified cultural communities such as musical theatre, classical music and dance.

The large mid shot/over the shoulder shot of two women talking over coffee appeals to the female audience through self identification. The women who look at this image can feel like they relate to the women having a talk, as the image of them talking over coffee is a relatable setting for the majority of females. Or rather, women are stereotypically known for chatting a lot with other female friends, and going out to coffee shops. Image looks gossipy.
Questions on this will be either representation or media language.
Representation
Article talking about bullying, with image of females. The story seems quite emotional which links with the stereotype that females are emotional and 'weak' to things like bullying.
Stereotypical, antistereotyical, dominant, subdominant?
