Cross media content

Image
Cross media content Cross media promotion=  The different forms lego movie content promote each other, resulting in more overall profit The trailer, game and poster promote each other excessively.  Game was produced on a range of different platforms (many different consoles) A disadvantage is that it makes decreases the exclusivuty or speciality, and it reaches a mainstream audience, which doesn't make the gamers playing it feel particularly special.  Another disadvantage of it being on multiple platforms is that it costs lots of money, and if it doesn't work out that money will be lost.

Continuation of video games??

TT Games TT games is a British video game developer Warner Bro's acquired TT Games in 2007 as a part of their move into the video game market The lego movie video game was directed by Matt Palmer (who's known for his work with Tim Burton's Corpse Bride) The game was launched the same week as the movie - why do you think this was done? I think this was done because whilst the film is a new launch, the video games will also seem like an exciting new launch. If the video games were launched after the film, they wouldn't be as sought after because the peak of the marketing and excitement surrounding the film would have faded.  Why do companies release films and games at the same time? Profit is maximised  Familiarity Extends the pleasure of the film They promote each other Horizontal integration Write a short paragraph on Warner Bro's horizontal integration model. use the Lego Movie a...

Audience interpretation

Image
Audience Interpretation - lego movie game reviews/interpretations  (PS4) Review/interpretation  Fun graphics and atmosphere (colourful and busy) Nice animations  Witty and humorous (appropriate for kids and adults) Very easy puzzles Some levels are fun whilst others are boring  Sometimes in trying to press a switch, it isn't responsive (this contrasts with other lego games) (Wii) Review/interpretation  Unsurprising the game came out considering how common movie games are, and lego games (as forms of cross promotion?) Story of game is a retelling of the lego movie  Everything in the game is made of lego, and the characters move like realistic lego figures b(this is the same in the movie) Game shows clips of the movie as cut scenes Different voice actors for voiceovers (however it's still a realistic reinactment) Plays the song 'everything is awesome' from he film  4 smaller hub worlds from key settings in the movie...

Video games

Video games Extracts from the film itself Cross promotion - lego movie lego sets, jurassic park lego sets etc...  Voice overs of actors in film  The physical toys are not the only way people can play with lego anymore Promoting the film through different methods - synergy (e.g.. video games, merchandise  Extracts in films being in video game Why do people play video games based on movies? Gives the audience an idea as to what the video game will be like Audience want to see characters they identify with  Familiarity  They know the plot, may feel comfortable playing the game and achieving rewards Interact with characters/ identify with characters eg... be as the character Parasocial interaction with established characters in the film Social interaction/ personal relationship (word-wide community)  Escapism into the world of the movie.... forms into entertainment  Get sponsored by film company (if they're an online influen...

Representation

Image
Representation  Emmet adheres to the subdominant representation of white males since he is seen running away and looking scared in both his poster and the main poster However, he is centred in the main poster, which presents him as 'the hero', which adheres tot the dominant representation of men in the media.  Emmet screams "I'm scared" or "I want my mum" in the tv advert. ?? Wild Style adheres to he subdominant representation of females in the media since she appears to look strong and confident in her poster, and the main poster, despite all the chaos happening behind her. She's represented as a strong character in the main poster, which challenges the stereotype of 'the princess', which would be assumed of her since she's represented as a female protagonist. She seems to be wearing makeup  like eye makeup and lipstick. This supports the stereotype that females in the media need o wear makeup in order to be accepted.  She...
