Layout (these aspects will apply to most other of these newspapers )
- Lots of text, body copy and headlines
- Images used are quite big (strong, powerful image, emphasised to a reader) (grabs readers attention)
- Symmetrical/ equal/ not messy, follows typical conventions of columns, not cluttered, organised (more formal) (appeals to the readers)
- Headline is to the left of the newspaper (called z technique), people read from up left to right down.
Typography
- Masthead is bold, block (serif font) (elegant and bold, appeals to target readers)
- Typography used in skybox is same font but different colours
- Smaller font size of article is conventional of a newspaper
- Simple font makes it easier to read
Langage
- Formal (adheres to target audience

Images
- Powerful picture (shows power of women), she's not being sexualised, just represented as strong
- Different people, genders, races and ethnicities on other pictures (conforms to promises of scots trust)
- Freefood magazine by Nigella Lawson (because they're famous, influential and have a lot of money. Their food is going to be very expensive in the cook books and fancy fine dining inspired dishes (adhered to middle class target audience )
- Nigella is smiling, (encouraging to audiences )
- This image has been mediated/ constructed (constructed for a specific reason, cropped up background, focusing on her) (shows dominance, tied into article of the me too campaign, liberal)
Graphics and colour
- Masthead is black (part of house style)
- Purple colour, neutral colour (reflects neutral, equal and liberal aspects of newspaper
- Yellow on specific words (emphasise words and make them see brighter, connotations of sun and happiness.)
Intertextuality
1. Megan and Harry getting married reflects Britain's multicultural society since they're a mixed race couple getting married. Their marriage has a huge amount of representation in the media and, being a royal wedding it suggests the acceptance in multiculturalism in Britain.

2. The image of the woman at the march reflects the feminist society we live in. The image of the woman crops out all of the background implying that she's the focus and therefore, has importance and power. The way her hand is lifted in a tight fist also reflects a feminist society because it implies that women are strong and have the right and power to fight for what they believe in.
